AGENCY HISTORY

In June of 2015, Healthy House for women, a non-profit 501(c)(3), opened with  the  desire to support women in need of a safe place to live while in recovery. I wanted to share my experience of recovery, healing and growth with vulnerable women in our community, who are at risk of homelessness due to unaddressed issues in their life such as substance use disorder, mental health diagnosis, unemployment, lack of education and community supports. I began by working  with knowledgeable people from the community to plan, implement, and evaluate prevention activities with community-based values, traditions and customs. This helps celebrate our community's diversity and  cultural competence.
